Job Summary: As a Retail Sales Associate at Urban Petals, you will be an integral part of our team, responsible for creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for our customers. Your passion for floral arrangements, gifts, and providing outstanding customer service will play a pivotal role in making each customer’s visit a delightful and unforgettable experience.
Key Responsibilities:
· Greet customers with a friendly and welcoming attitude, ensuring they feel valued and attended to.
· Assist customers in selecting floral arrangements, gifts, and home decor items based on their preferences and occasions.
· Share your knowledge and passion for plants and flowers, providing insights on different types, care tips, and arrangement ideas.
· Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently using the point-of-sale system.
· Help customers create custom floral arrangements and gift packages, tailoring each creation to their needs.
· Maintain the shop's visual appeal by maintaining displays and restocking inventory.
· Handle customer inquiries, orders, and special requests, ensuring prompt and attentive service.
· Keep the shop tidy and organized, restocking products as needed to ensure availability.
· Provide care for our house plants and maintain a working knowledge of appropriate plant care.
· Collaborate with the team to achieve sales goals and contribute to a positive store environment.
· Assist with occasional flower arranging and gift wrapping as required.
Qualifications:
· Previous retail, customer service, or floral industry experience is required.
· Dependable, highly detail oriented, and able to multi-task.
· Passion for flowers, floral arrangements, and a creative eye for design.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a warm and approachable demeanor.
· Ability to engage with customers, understand their needs, and offer tailored recommendations.
· Basic math skills and comfort using point-of-sale systems.
· Flexibility to work weekends and holidays, as these are often busy times for our shop.
· High school diploma or equivalent (Floral design courses or related training is a plus).

HOURS: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday; 1-2 Saturdays per month are required, evenings as needed.
